I grew up in Bokaro Steel City — the kind of place where everyone knows your family and ambition is measured in exam results. I was that kid who found comfort in numbers, so naturally, chartered accountancy it was. I moved to Kolkata for college — St. Xavier's College — and pursued my graduation and CA simultaneously. Cleared my CA, packed my bags, and thought I had it all figured out.
I didn't. And that turned out to be the best thing.
I joined a partnership firm in Delhi — three partners, zero hand-holding. For four years, I was deep in the trenches of India's unorganized retail sector. GST certifications, tax filings, credit management — the unsexy but essential work of keeping businesses running. I also started helping companies build their SAP systems, which is when something clicked. I wasn't just crunching numbers. I was building systems.
"I don't just want to audit the machine. I want to build it."
I took a maternity break. The world paused. I didn't — I just redirected the energy.
I joined PetSetGo as a consultant and ended up building their entire product — zero to one. It was supposed to be a financial advisory role. It became... everything. Product strategy, market expansion, B2B channel creation (they were purely B2C before), Instagram commerce, exhibition tours across states. We built websites, streamlined operations, introduced new product lines. It was chaotic, exhausting, and honestly? One of the most fun chapters of my career.
Mumbai happened. I joined Capri Global as a Product Manager, and construction finance found me — or maybe I found it. I built the Loan Origination System from scratch and designed the complete roadmap for integrating it with the Loan Management System. It was the first time I saw how deeply tech could reshape lending.
In between, I also built silly learning games for my kid — because why should work have all the fun?
Today, I'm at Godrej Capital as a Product Lead for construction finance — building it from the ground up, again. But this time, it's different. I'm not just managing the tech. I'm in the business, the P&L, the credit decisions, the compliance, the legal. Every stakeholder, every trade-off, every call. It's essentially a Chief of Staff role wrapped in a product title — and I'm loving every bit of it.
The thread through it all? I build things from nothing. And I enjoy the beautiful chaos of making them real.
Oh, and I'm an AI enthusiast. A quick learner who believes the best builders are the ones who never stop being curious.
